I wanted a dulcimer I could easily take in our MINI along with the dog and hubby when vacationing. This travel dulcimer is the perfect solution. It has a soft voice, but can be pretty loud for its size if you need more volume. I want to be able to play in the motel room without disturbing anyone. The workmanship is great. I am very pleased to be able to get a dulcimer of this quality at such a good price point.

I LOVE my new dulcimer! The instrument is so well-crafted and has a lovely tone. The originality, beauty, and functionality of the design is exceptional. I can’t say enough about what a pleasure it is to work with Pete. Before he built my custom instrument, we had many details to discuss. In the process I learned that Pete truly cares about his customers, has great communication, and really knows dulcimers! The instrument was packed with the utmost of care and arrived speedily. Easy to play. Will be better when traveling than my McSpadden Ginger. Much more portable. Not as much range but that is ok when traveling and just practicing simple songs.

My little Sparrow is fantastic! It fits in my lap well, and the sound is great considering the size. Pete was great to work with customizing every detail. We must have had at least 20 emails or more before it was through. He even sent pictures during the process of making it. Pete made me a peg head tuner which is very easy to tune. He also lightly stained the wood at my request to make it darker. The size is very easy to play, especially chords that I was having difficulty with on a regular size dulcimer. I wouldn't hesitate to buy again from him. THANKS PETE!!

I received my Oriole today it as a special order Cherry, walnut and wenge with 4 strings since I requested the melody pair and is tuned DAD Pete made the fret board thickness so I could use a capo. Very beautiful instrument and Pete is wonderful to work with a very nice person and I will definitely do business with him again.

The unique design is what drew me to this instrument. I needed a small portable dulcimer that I could throw in a backpack. This little cutie is a marriage of innovation and simplicity. I did end up swapping it for one a tad larger, as I needed a little larger fret spacing. Pete's customer service is phenomenal!

The Dulcimer is well built, I am also a builder of musical instruments. I am in the process of building two full size Dulcimers and wanted one to play on, while building these two. It is the right size to throw in a back pack to carry it any where. The sound of the instrument is FANTASTIC!! Do not let the size of the Dulcimer stop you from purchasing one of these Dulcimers. If you have a child that would like to play a stringed instrument this is the one to purchase. I am Very Happy with it.

Wonderful instrument.Sweet sound and smaller than usual per my request.Already have the original hummingbird dulcimer and wanted this stick dulcimer for traveling purposes.I'm either on the back of a motorcycle, truck cab(no canopy) with grandkids in the backseat,or an airplane,so space is tight. This is perfect.

Actually, mine is the smaller Wren. It is a wonderful little instrument, nicely made, not loud, but sweet-sounding. Just the thing for travel, yes, but also fun around the house. It won't take the place of my "real" full-sized dulcimer, but it's a happy addition. And a real bargain.

Love this very small dulcimer. Seller was most helpful in choice of woods and tuning recommendations. It has a very strong voice for such a small instrument. I will enjoy taking her with me as I travel, as her size and weight will allow her to be taken any where with ease. Highly recommend this seller as shipping was fast and well packaged.
